Garage Door Measurement Guide
Measure your garage door opening in just a few minutes. Follow our simple guide to ensure the perfect fit for your new garage door.
BEFORE YOU MEASURE
Clean the opening
Remove any obstacles and ensure the garage opening is fully visible.
Use a Tape Measure
Use a tape measure for accurate results,
Measure Twice
Always double-check measurements before submitting them.
No Obstructions
Ensure no obstructions in way of door as it travels up and into the garage.

Single Doors
Each door is measured indiviually. Provide measurements for both doors.
Double Doors
Measure the full opening at once. Provide the total width for the complete opening.
PLEAE NOTE
All measurements should be taken in millimeters (mm) for the most accurate results.
- Ensure garage opening is complete.
- Screed (floor) must be complete.
- Fllor must be level.
- Walls must be plastered.
- Roof/ceiling must be complete.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
Complete Opening
The garage must be fully constructed with brickwork or a final structural finish.
Finished Floor
The floor must be screeded and level for accurate measurements & Installation.
Plastered Walls
All walls must be plastered or at final finish for correct measurements and proper installation.
Complete Roof
The Roof/ceiling must be completed for a proper measurements.
Construction Free
Ensure there is no construction in the path of the door as it opens & closes.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR GARAGE OPENING
Opening Width
Measure the width of the opening from brick to brick.
Opening Height
Measure from the finished floor to the underside of lintel.
Headroom
Measure from the top of the opening to the ceiling.
Side Nibs
Measure the available space on both sides of the opening.
Backroom
Measure from the opening to the back wall.
